We offer a full schedule of morning, afternoon, and evening activities and entertainment for adults, teens, and children—both together and separately. Participation is always optional, so everyone can enjoy their free time at their own pace and in their own way!
Family Experiences All Year Round
We’re here for you all year round—on weekends, holidays, and school breaks (New Year’s, Easter, and summer)—with a fun-filled family activity program featuring daily activities in the morning and afternoon, and themed entertainment in the evenings.
We have activity proposals ready for children, for adults, and also for the whole family to enjoy together!
We’ll make every moment of your stay at Hotel El Jou Nature a special one.
Here’s a taste of the activities we offer, along with a selection of nearby experiences you can enjoy close to us.
Daily activities
Morning: 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM
Dynamic activities focused on connecting with nature and discovering the surroundings of El Jou Nature and the Berguedà region.
Après-midi : de 15h30 à 18h30
Nous commençons l’après-midi avec des activités de développement des compétences pour les enfants (ateliers créatifs, jeux d’eau, lecture de cartes et orientation, etc.), puis nous enchaînons avec des activités de découverte, de partage et de divertissement à vivre en famille, en mettant l’accent sur la relation parents-enfants.
Goûter inclus de 18h00 à 18h30.
Noche: de 21.30 a 22.45
(21.00 a 22.00 actividades infantiles, a partir de las 22.00 animaciones adultos y niños/as).
Entramos por la noche con actividades pequeñitas para niños y niñas, y continuaremos con una fiesta en familia con una propuesta diferente cada día.
Shared Memories
Activities with children will be divided into age groups so that everyone can enjoy the experiences. Some of the activities include:
For children aged 4 to 8
Gymkhanas, water games, forest excursions, craft workshops, traditional games, and local storytelling.
For children over 9 years old
Bicivoladoras (minimum height 1.40 m), roadbook challenges, zumba, zip line circuits (minimum height 1.40 m), gymkhanas, cooperative challenges, and aerobics.
And there are also activities to enjoy as a family: massages, scavenger hunts, olympics, yoga, biodanza… fun for everyone together!
Entertainment
When night falls, a little family party begins!
“Pequenit” activities for the little ones, such as mini-karaoke or storytelling, followed by evenings filled with shows and themed nights led by professional entertainers.
Contest night, stargazing night under the Berguedà sky, Rock&Roll night with karaoke, bingo, open-air cinema, or a super fun family disco—every night is a new opportunity to enjoy!

Monastery of St. Llorenç
The Monestir de Sant Llorenç is an ancient cenobi located in a privileged natural environment. With well-preserved Romanesque architecture, it is a castle of great historical and spiritual value. Surrounded by mountains and tranquility, it is ideal for cultural visits and moments of relaxation.
Baells Reservoir
Visit to the reservoir and water activities
In the center of the region, the Baells reservoir collects water from the Cadí-Moixeró mountains, making it a magnificent place to enjoy water activities such as rowing, wakeboarding, or swimming.
Cercs Mines Museum
A mine train takes visitors deep into the Sant Romà mine. The 450-meter tunnel tour takes us back to the original workings of the mine.
Fumanya Dinosaur Museum
If you come to Berguedá, a must-see is the Fumanya Dinosaur Interpretation Center. An impressive paleontological site with more than 3,500 dinosaur footprints dating back more than 65 million years was discovered there. Don’t miss it!
Castellar de N’ug Cement Museum
The Asland cement factory, located in the Clot del Moro area of Castellar de n’Hug, operated from 1904 to 1975. The remains still visible today demonstrate the spectacular nature of one of the most incredible factory complexes of Catalan industrialization, set in a unique natural setting.

MTB Routes
The Berguedà region is one of the best areas for mountain biking, offering a wide variety of routes for all levels: from very challenging trails to peaceful, easy rides. This way, both adults and children can enjoy the nature of this beautiful part of Catalonia.

Romanesque Routes
Berguedà is a region rich in nature, but also in artistic history. With 11 pre-Romanesque and Romanesque churches —5 of which are open to the public— it’s a great opportunity to enjoy cultural tourism as a family and for children to experience part of our history firsthand.
Hiking Trail “El Camí dels Bons Homes”
This route commemorates the exile of the Occitan Cathars, also known as the Good Men and Good Women, who advocated for a pure and simple form of Christianity based on spirituality and in opposition to the authoritarian, corrupt, and ostentatious Catholic Church of the 13th century.
Starry skies and Pedraforca Astronomical Center
El Jou Nature is the ideal hotel to enjoy starry summer nights with the family. And if you’re passionate about astronomy, we recommend visiting the Pedraforca Astronomical Center, located just 20 minutes by car from our hotel. It features an astronomical telescope, a solar telescope, a digital planetarium, and offers family-friendly activities.
“La Patum” of Berga
A UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage Festival.
La Patum is the most important festival in Berga, with over 600 years of history. It takes place during the Corpus Christi festivities, once a year between late May and late June.
Artigas Gardens (designed by Gaudí) in La Pobla de Lillet
One of the treasures of La Pobla de Lillet is the Artigas Gardens, designed by Antoni Gaudí, the greatest representative of Catalan Modernism in the early 20th century.
Gothic Bridge of Pedret and Romanesque Church of Sant Quirze de Pedret
Sant Quirze de Pedret is a site located in the municipality of Cercs (Berguedà), declared a Cultural Asset of National Interest. However, access is from Berga, crossing the Llobregat River via a very well-preserved medieval bridge.

The Sources of the Llobregat River
The Sources of the Llobregat River are located in Castellar de n’Hug, in the Catalan Pyrenees. This stunning natural site marks the origin of the Llobregat River, where water gushes powerfully from the rock, creating spectacular waterfalls—especially after rainfall or during the snowmelt season. Surrounded by a mountainous and wooded landscape, it’s an ideal destination for hiking and nature excursions.
